Wavebreak

Two waves,
opal white,
crystal arms of
undulating coral,
snaking up
from the ocean's
canyons like the
ghosts of
eels.

Towards death,
incandescence
arching towards
each other from
the water's
transparent
spine, towards
a petalled
blossoming,
towards
life.

Wavebreak,
into indigo,
gold, amber,
blue, violet,
green, silver,
beaded splinters
of kaleidoscope
glass, a cascade
of carousel horses,
a ferris wheel
of prismed
light.

  1. This is so lovely, just like the sea to me. I am always trying to catch this in words and photos. I like the traditional horse, the over sensuality, the sense of light and darkness... will continute to read

  2. I love the ocean, so deep and full, dip a seashell into it and there - a poem.

  3. This so much describe the ocean. A beautiful body of water with royal colours. Feels so delicate in the hand;silky, smooth and moving.

  5. I've only read 2 of your poems: Away and this one, Wavebreak. They are both striking, full of imagery and...delicious. Yes, that's the word, delicious.
