Elevator

Three floors down,
to the cafeteria on the second floor.

Half-past one,
three floors up again.

Is this the only way I can get

  1. Something of a departure for you.... I think all poets should write spare, spare poetry from time to time. How much can one say in under thirty words?

  2. "Three," "second," "one," "three," the progression really gives form to how much the speaker has to do to "get close." Even, "get close" is split into the next line, great choices. Excited to read more, please continue your great work!
